A gorgeous and exquisitely designed 40s dress – which may possibly be even 30s. The warm burgundy colour and the classic loose fitting crepe fabric compliment each other beautifully. Looks hand made with much care and intricate design features almost too many to mention. Belt effect neckline with rhinestone and goldtone buckles, matching leather and fabric belt, numerous shape defining seams at the top and along the sleeves, those sleeves being finished off with metal zips at the wrists. Slight drop waist. Looks great with or without the belt. Metal zip at rear. There is a small dark mark about 3” from the hem at the back of the skirt and very slight damage at the top left front – very near to the buckle – where a corsage is likely to have been pinned. See photo details. Neither flaw is prominent and only noticeable on close inspection.
