50s Saks Fifth Ave Silk and Lace Dress

A magnificent dress in a gorgeous combination of lace and silk with a super hour glass shape. The outer layer bodice is a floral lace in a soft muted peach with ¾ length sleeves under which there is a strapless synthetic peach lining which itself is lined with a soft cotton. The lined silk skirt is a buff colour beige. The bodice is tailored to the waist, with nipped pleats from the waist to the pencil skirt with pleat at back. Rear metal zip. Union label confirms made in the US. In great condition for its age and colour, there is a minor mark (see photo) on the skirt just below the front knee which due to the silk fabric is not immediately noticeable.

A fabulous dress as the combination of colours and fabric works beautifully.

The waist comes is small compared to the bust and hips. Perhaps a smaller size could have the skirt taken in slightly.
