50s Brown Check Shirtwaister

A lovely cotton shirtwaister in a light brown and grey check on a white background. Round collar, loose fitting double breasted front with five large ivory buttons – one of the buttons is missing but all could be replaced or the two that are design features only could be removed. Short sleeves with turn back cuffs, pleated waist into a full skirt with belt loops but not belt. Label reads “Shirt Dresses Inc, Made in California”. A very sweet summer dress in fine condition, there is a small repair within a pleat under the waist and a very slight discoloration at the front of the skirt, as shown – both of which are only noticeable on close inspection.
